I've revamped the blog logo

Hi, I'm Lovefield.

It's been five years since I've been running this blog. There have not been many, but blogging has gone through a lot of changes as I've written a suitable article. This time, the blog has a version 4.0. With version 4.0 being planned, I thought I should change the logo and main color that I've been using for a long time. Actually, blue was the easiest color to use, so I chose it.

I chose yellow as the main color. There's no big reason. It's because I like yellow. Yellow is the most difficult color to use. The difficulty level has gone up that much. I've been through a lot of trial and error, and I've come up with a result that I like. This is about the process.

Dico is a word derived from Latin. It means "to speak" and "to express." I thought that it was just right to write what I wanted to say and express on my blog. Then, I thought of "loudspeaker" with the idea of talking and expressing, and my first concept was to imagine a loudspeaker.

I did a sketch by comparing D spelling to a loudspeaker in Dico.

As we continued to update and refine it based on the sketch, it developed into the form of putting letters on the loudspeaker. The reason why "D" spelling was not made like a loudspeaker was that it looked like P and was concerned that it would not be read as Dico. After continuing to think about it like this, I chose the logo below.

I was satisfied with the first logo that I made, until I asked the design community for advice.

The feedback of "Bungeoppang (fish-shaped bun)" was shocking to me, as I became obsessed with speakers and became blind. It was a wake-up call. As I continued my research thinking about what Dico meant again, I noticed the keyword "sound."

So I started working again with the keyword sound, and I started to reconstruct the logo based on the design that expressed the sound visually.

And that's how the second logo came about. I decided to use it because I thought it would be much better polished and better communicated than before. And the experience of creating this logo is that the field of vision should not be too narrow. The big stumbling block was getting caught up in one keyword and not being able to think of another. Thank you for reading.
